Job Summary

The Vice President of Employee Benefits Sales is responsible for generating new clients from prospecting and lead generation, to closing the sale. As a producer, you will also maintain a book of business by becoming a trusted advisor to clients through insurance solutions designed specifically for your and the agency’s Employee Benefits clients.

New Sales:

  • Generate leads and a maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities through outbound prospecting, including cold calling, referrals, strategic relationships, drop-ins, emails, and LinkedIn
  • Prequalify insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk
  • Design Benefits program and develop recommended strategies for prospects
  • Prepare proposal and make sales presentation to prospective clients
  • Close accounts with the support of your experienced mentors

Retention of Current Clients:

  • Work with current clients to review coverage annually and market/negotiate as needed to obtain best renewal options for client
  • Cross-sell or up-sell based on needs of client
  • Maintain key relationships with existing Employee Benefits clients

Personal and Organizational Development:

  • Participate in sales meetings
  • Identify market trends to improve overall marketing strategy
  • Learn and use the Beyond Insurance Risk Management Process
  • Two or more years’ experience in the Health, Voluntary Benefits, or Human Capital industry
  • Business-to-Business sales experience and skills
  • Life & Health Insurance license must be obtained within first 30 days of employment
  • Strong network of local business contacts
  • Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with prospects, clients, and carriers.
