Job Summary

The Commercial Risk Advisor is responsible for generating new clients from prospecting and lead generation, to closing the sale. As a producer, you will also maintain a book of business by becoming a trusted advisor to clients through risk management plans and solutions designed specifically for your clients’ businesses.

Responsibilities:

New Sales:

    • Generate leads and a maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities through outbound prospecting, including cold calling, referrals, strategic relationships, drop-ins, emails, and LinkedIn
    • Prequalify insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk
    • Survey loss exposures, needs, and possible uninsurable or difficult to insure exposures for clients
    • Design insurance program and prepare proposal for risk management solutions
    • Make sales presentation to prospective clients
    • Close accounts with the support of your experienced mentors

Retention of Current Clients:

    • Work with current clients to review coverage annually or as needed
    • Cross-sell or up-sell based on needs of client
    • Maintain relationships of existing clients and coverages to reach a set retention goal

Personal and Organizational Development:

    • Participate in sales meetings
    • Identify market trends to improve overall marketing strategy
    • Learn and use the Beyond Insurance Risk Management Process
Requirements:
  • Business-to-Business sales experience and skills
  • Insurance license must be obtained within first 30 days of employment
  • Strong network of local business contacts
  • Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with prospects, clients, and carriers.
